Illinois’ inventor Steve Le Roy reported to be working on a device which purpose is to generate electricity from lightning. Device infact harvest energy from the electrical discharge produced from lightning. As mentioned in this month’s Business Week’s Green Tech forum, Le Roy took his cues from a coiled transformer created by Nikola Tesla at the turn of the century. We learn this from Inhabitat and thank them for the detailed information.

Each small three-foot bolt generates enough electricity to illuminate a 60-watt light bulb for 20 minutes. But a full-scale system, LeRoy believes, could power 30,000 homes for a day with just one lightning bolt. Given that the average Midwest thunderstorm releases enough electrical energy to power the entire U.S. for 20 minutes, who knows what the potential is for the harvesting of lightning fields and arrays of bolt conductors.
It’s damn AMAZING! I really hope that Steve will find ways to improve its technology and deliver to our planet one really efficient way to charge ourself needs.

I would be happy to send you more pages of text and drawings on the original patent. Please contact me using the email I included. I want to share this knowledge, not become rich. I’m covered til around 2025 anyway. And have a new design to submit. Bear in mind that my research is diversified and this isn’t the only way to freedom. Steven LeRoy

Sadly, a large corporation has embarked on a negative PR campaign regarding my lightning efforts. I have had no choice but to disassemble the lightning machine and suspend all future energy research. I can’t compete with a multi million dollar corporation, especially when they are involved in unscrupulous activities.

Dear Steve: I have been thinking about the harvesting of lightning for the past l0 years and as an artist with no creditabliity at all in the subject, I wanted you to know that there are people out here who are in the same frame of mind but have not gotten even as far as you have. Do Not Give UP! The times are changing very fast. Years are now only months. I would like to send you a very basic computer drawing of my first lightning reactor as the colors are the only ones on my computer. But the idea is there. Please send me your email address so I can send document to you. My email is dben_9@yahoo.com. You are my first contact. Thanks, Diane Bennett

Respected Steve,
I wanted you to know that what you have done is worth a applauding and would like to know how to procede in this direction as I am a student and am working on the same project as you are. Please share your views if possible.Mail me at gauravmakkar@gmail.com.
Kind Regards,
