Organizing institution of this online conference is the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg). An internet-based (and therefore largely CO2-neutral) scientific event concerned with approaches, methods, strategies, and other types of action needed in order to cope with the challenge of climate change! Individual researchers or research teams (decision-makers, scientists, enterprises, NGOs or individuals) are invited to submit papers for the online-conference until 15 April 2008 at the latest. Accepted papers will be subsequently published in the book “Interdisciplinary Aspects of Climate Change”.

The aims of the Conference “Climate 2008/ Klima 2008″ are:

  • to introduce the latest findings on scientific research on climate change, including elements related to its environmental, social, economic and policy aspects;
  • to introduce projects and other initiatives being undertaken in both industrialised and developing countries by universities and scientific institutions, government bodies, NGOs and other stakeholders;
  • to discuss the problems, barriers, challenges and chances and potentials related to sustainability research projects in general in Europe;

The schedule below outlines the absolute deadlines. They should be seen as the latest possible stage at which submissions are possible. Authors are advised to make their submissions well ahead of the deadlines below.

1. Submissions of ideas and abstracts: 15th April 2008
2. Submissions of papers: 30th May 2008
3. Review of papers and feed-back to authors: 30th June 2008
4. Formatting and on-line posting of all papers: 30th September 2008
5. Final quality control of all papers: 30th October 2008
6. On-line conference “Climate 2008 / Klima 2008″: 3-7 November 2008
