Isn’t it really, really good to see more and more human beings that response on our trusts? Having so much new initiatives is probably best way to suggest world people that their role may be various and value only to their own forces. Same good job is registering at the Earth Hour undertaking, than smoking cigar or going to the drink machine. There is more than one month to the official date, be part of this good cause, why not by helping your home town or city to be part of this Climate Change match.

greenhouse gas into gasoline

F. Jeffrey Martin and William L. Kubic Jr., are proposing a concept, which they have patriotically named Green Freedom, for removing carbon dioxide from the air and turning it back into gasoline. The scientists at Los Alamos National Laboratory are giving us some great new deal in near future-people will still be driving gasoline-powered cars 50 years from now, churning out heat-trapping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere — and yet that carbon dioxide will not contribute to global warming! The idea is simple. Air would be blown over a liquid solution of potassium carbonate, which would absorb the carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide would then be extracted and subjected to chemical reactions that would turn it into fuel: methanol, gasoline or jet fuel. This process could transform carbon dioxide from an unwanted, climate- changing pollutant into a vast resource for renewable fuels. The closed cycle - equal amounts of carbon dioxide emitted and removed - would mean that cars, trucks and airplanes using the synthetic fuels would no longer be contributing to global warming.

Lightning field energy transformation

Illinois’ inventor Steve Le Roy reported to be working on a device which purpose is to generate electricity from lightning. Device infact harvest energy from the electrical discharge produced from lightning. As mentioned in this month’s Business Week’s Green Tech forum, Le Roy took his cues from a coiled transformer created by Nikola Tesla at the turn of the century. We learn this from Inhabitat and thank them for the detailed information.

Swiss Floating Solar Island 1

Producing “clean energy” from the Sun is an option, which everyone of us must consider for future because of its renewable status. Scientist from Neuchatel’s Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology has designed a floating solar island that will produce both electricity and hydrogen using solar power. And even better is that the first $5 million, 100-meter-wide island is set to be deployed in Ras al Khaimah, one of the United Arab Emirates.

Volvo Presents CO2 carbon-dioxide-free trucks 1

Volvo with their busy looking at other types of renewable energy sources for trucks for sure deserve our applause. The recent demonstration of new generation trucks which the Swedish vehicle manufacturer says are carbon-dioxide free needs to be considered as attempt in right direction by other truck manufacturers, especially by those in US. Volvo produced seven trucks equipped with Volvo’s own 9-liter engines, modified to operate on seven different types of renewable liquid and gaseous fuels. Volvo said that these trucks can “be operated on a number of different renewable fuels and/or combinations of fuels: biodiesel, biogas combined with biodiesel, ethanol/methanol, DME, synthetic diesel and hydrogen gas combined with biogas.”
